How it is done

  1. 1

    Breathe out

From Baddha Padmasana, fold forward, bringing the forehead or chin toward the floor.

  2. 2

    Breathe freely

Stay for ten breaths, then inhale to come up.

Holding it

Around ten breaths.

Making it easier

Fold forward from a cross-legged seat with the hands clasped behind.

What the tradition says it does

  • Folds the attention inward
  • Stretches the back

As our source describes it. This is not a medical claim.

A note on the tradition

Named a mudra, but practised here as a posture of the finishing sequence. It is distinct from the hand mudras in the breath and energy shelf.
