Finishing: family introduction
The closing poses settle the practice: inversions, the lotus group, and Savasana.
Awaiting subject reviewWritten from our source material and not yet checked by a teacher of this practice. Read it as reference, and learn the practice from someone who teaches it.
Practical guidance
The finishing sequence follows the main practice. It moves from Urdhva Dhanurasana into the shoulderstand group and its counterpose Matsyasana, then headstand, then the lotus seats of Baddha Padmasana, Yoga Mudra and Padmasana, and finally Utpluthih and Savasana.
If time is short, the tradition favours shortening the main practice rather than leaving out the ending. Savasana is never skipped.
Take care
The inversions and lotus poses here are teacher-guided. Where they are not yet right for you, rest with the legs up a wall and sit in an easy cross-legged seat instead, then take Savasana.
