Philosophy

Darshan means a way of seeing. Yog Darshan is one of the six orthodox schools, and its root text is Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, with the commentary attributed to Vyasa.

It shares Sankhya's account of Purusha and Prakriti, and adds two things: a detailed method of practice, the eight limbs, and Ishvara as a special object of devotion.
