Philosophy
Bhakti means devotion, from a root meaning to share or to partake. Bhakti Yog makes love the method: the practitioner turns feeling, rather than will or intellect, toward the divine.
Its practices are familiar ones: chanting the divine name, singing in kirtan, prayer, offering and service. The Bhagavad Gita gives Bhakti a central place, and much of the devotional poetry of India grows from it.
